Junior Otis College students work with the students of ACES Elementary School in South Los Angeles. Together, the partnership explores the ACES campus, looking for opportunities to implement strategies to advance the sustainable use and conservation of energy, water, and other material resources. With funding provided by the Boeing Foundation, Otis students have opportunities to execute their ideas during summer implementation sessions.

Collaborative learning is a method of teaching and learning in which students team together to explore a significant question or create a meaningful project. A group of students discussing a lecture or students from different schools working together on a shared assignment are both examples of collaborative learning.
