As part of our inclusion program, students with special needs are encouraged to be active members in the school community. Ben, who has autism, has been a student in the graphics program over the past four years. During this time, Ben has mastered Adobe Illustrator. This year we are working with Ben to take his gifts of telling a story and drawing characters to illustrating his story/characters using Illustrator, with the goal of publishing his book. Ben would like to visit local elementary schools to donate his book, share his life story as a visiting author/illustrator, and send a positive message of acceptance of all special individuals.
