Conservation from its roots. A request for partnership from a community working for to save its biodiversity. An offer from a company whose future depends on healthy ecosystems. The formation of a team to meet an active ecological, economic and social sea change. Generative organicism. Building so life can thrive. With a core team of a conservation biologist and an architecture student, we are working with the Rewa Eco Lodge to build a field station where scientists, students and sport fishing guides can stay and work. Located in the Rewa Village in the North Rupununi district of Guyana, the Rewa Field Station is a model for the future.

The High Bond, the first building in the Field Station project, and crew. The High Bond houses fuel, tools, and scientific research equipment, and is flood proof.
The design of the Bond was a collaborative effort between our team and the Rewa Village. We used local building techniques to create a place for scientists working out of Rewa to store their material.
The process proved to be a perfect testing ground for our partnership with the Rewa Village, and a great way to learn about best construction practices in that environment.
Team member and conservation biologist Dr. Lesley de Souza discusses a giant river turtle. The Rewa River is renown in scientific communities for it's biodiversity.
The Rewa Village. The Rewa Eco Lodge, and in the future the Field Station, will give villagers the potential to make a living sharing their knowledge of the land, rather than mining or logging.

Destruction of ecosystems is occurring at unprecedented levels on too many fronts to imagine. We are nearing the final showdown between irresponsible land stewardship and the life of creatures and systems so informative and intriguing that to lose them would do unimaginable damage to our future as intelligent life.

An offshoot of the Rewa Eco Lodge, the Rewa Field Station will support long-term engagement between the land, the community who live there, and individuals who want to visit and learn. The Field Station is a cruxes of exploration, a forum for the transfer of information, and a laboratory for tomorrow's solutions.
